You're just a little guy, and all the big dragons are out to get you! Why? Who knows, you definitely weren't trying to sneakily munch all their fruit or anything. You may not be big enough to fight them directly, but you can toss pieces of your tail (lizard-style) at them to stun them with your sharp scales and pointy feathers. Slide and glide across a procedurally generated landscape crafted from entirely hand drawn art as you flee. How far can you get before they catch you? Send me your score to be placed on the leaderboard!

:D Welcome to the leaderboard <3

Aww, thank you for coming back and playing it again <3<3 Leaderboard updated!

I'm coming for your damn spot  Faulko...

Score aside, this was a fun simple game with a surprising amount of depth for something heavily inspired by a childhood game that I enjoyed heavily in the past. On a side note, thank you for the nice nostalgia trip :)

The momentum felt very refined, which is important for games like these, so I appreciate the time you put into perfecting it.

One small critique I have about the game is that at some point the foreground (slopes) start to blend into the background due to the shift in color, making it nigh impossible to see where you have to drop down. Just a little bit of contrast on the top of the slopes with like a texture of grass could go a long way.

Overall, great job! 10/10 addicting, and expect me to come and post another comment with a #1 leaderboard spot. Cheers :)

Thank you so much for playing! You made it just in time to be permanently added to the Legacy Leaderboard at #7 for the original version of this game! The game has now been updated to fix several bugs, including the bug you experienced with the colors blending. Any future scores will go on the new leaderboard :3

Fun game! I played until I beat at least someone one the leaderboard :P

Few points of feedback I have :

- There is a section where its hard to see difference between FG & BG

- Fullscreen does not fullscreen

- Enemies are fast when you try again ( mentioned on page :P )

- Music & SFX are great

- Cute artstyle

- When can I download this on my phone? I need it.

Thank you, Quinten! I really appreciate it <3 The color issue is fixed for the next update (I hope), as is the enemy speed glitch. I'm sorry but I'm not sure how to fix the full screen problem. I will have to look into it. I dunno how to make a game for phones, I assume the aspect ratio will be all messed up :(

If in any way I could help with stuff like aspect / control scheme on mobile let me know in discord chat, we made our entry dynamically scale on aspect- and well its engineless, but same principals may apply. :)

Love the aesthetic and gameplay! The art is soothing and fun with a great color palette. When I finally got a hang of how the controls it was a lot of fun to catch air and soar. As others have already said a wider view may help with decision making on where the fruits are and where a player could dive. Also, the absolute loss in movement/momentum can be frustrating as your are learning. Overall I had a lot of fun playing your game! Great work!

Thank you so much for playing and giving feedback, I really appreciate it <3

GG, best score so far! Best of luck uncursing :)

Thank you for playing, I've added your score to the leaderboard! Your game is wonderful, btw!

Nice fun little game ! 153.31 m! .. really cool!

Love the concept and the graphic!

Fun and simple game, takes some getting used to but has really good flow when you get the momentum going, got 109.01 meters

Thanks for playing! That's about my high score too, lol

Looks neat, but the camera needs to be MUCH more zoomed out to give the player a chance to see where to land. Shift isn't a great choice for a key you have to press repeatedly since that's the sticky keys shortcut by default, and fullscreen didn't work for me (Win/Firefox)

The sticky key issue is such a good point. I asked what people would like for the key and my feedback was to choose shift, but I never thought about sticky keys being a problem. I'm sorry about that! I agree on the camera zoom-out too. It originally was ore zoomed out, but I changed the camera from ortho to perspective and it messed with things (originally the camera zoomed out quite a bit with each jump). Not sure why full screen didn't work. I'll fix those things after the jam, thank you for playing and giving feedback :3

Addictive game, good work <3

Thank you for playing!

What a great little game.  I know you're supposed to go flying high, but I like trying to snake along the ground while keeping momentum and touching the ground, braking slightly before cresting the hills. Maybe that style is intentional to refill your tail and mixing it with jumping big could go far? I'll need more practice to find out.

Snaking along the ground a bit is definitely a hidden strategy that the top scorers are using. It makes it easier to see where you're headed, and also lets you eat fruits. I like flinging myself high and far, and I don't get anywhere near the high scores, so... lol. Thank you so much for playing <3

Crazy addicting. Once you understand how the game works, it gets REALLY fun! There's something very cathartic about getting a big strong boost. Outside of some of the things mentioned by the others, I'd also like to suggest allowing the player to retry using the keyboard, since having the hands on both SHIFT keys and Space to them go to the mouse for restarting didn't feel as intuitive!

The art is very stylistic and reminds me a lot of your game from last jam, and that's not the only similarity I got! This game also feels similarly relaxing, even if you have three speed demons flying after you. I also love how both our dragon and the evil dragons look. The game absolutely exudes a magical energy from it.

The gameplay itself also ends up feeling relaxing because of the way you're supposed to move. Doing those waveform movements makes the gameplay itself feel quite beautiful in a way. The music choices also play a big part in how good the game feels in terms of atmosphere.

I enjoyed this a lot. It's fun!

You're so sweeeet. All your feedback and playing is gonna be so useful when I can start editing things. And it's silly, but I really appreciate that you "recognized" my art style. I have to draw everything so fast that I feel like I cant put my normal style into anything during these jams. Good to know I still have some style, even if it's a bit rushed. Thank you x a million for being my best "post launch play-tester" <333

Beautiful Art and Music!!

It's a blessing for the eye. The game is sooo gorgeoes!

You done amazing!!!

I witnessed myself always moving my hole body to take a leap in real life.
I really enjoyed it and played it quite a while before realising that so much time flies by

Amazing! Thanks for letting me play such an amazing game!

Awww, I'm so glad you enjoyed it. Thank you for the sweet comment, I'm blushing hehe :)

Clean design!
+ Art and music, as always, impeccable.
+ Simple gameplay loop that has a satisfying mastery curve
+ I really want to hit 200m
- I wish i could do more to control my landings. The screen doesnt resize so i cant see ahead, the terrain has some bumps that tank your speed gain, and hitting an uphill is death.
- At one point, the ground's colour gradient shifts to match the background almost exactly, and it feels pretty bad to work around.
- I kinda wish that hitting the enemies with your tail also reset their acceleration a bit. I see them cheating to catch up to me; at least give me this

I need to make all the adjustments you mentioned. I wish I had more time to fix those issues before the jam ended so you could have had a better experience, but I'm really grateful you played it and found things to enjoy about it. Thank you so much!

I struggled to understand exactly how the movement worked at first, but once I figured it out I had a lot of fun!

I'm happy you figured it out, thank you so much for playing!

This game is super cute! I like the music and the art alot. I like the tail attack mechanic a lot and the monster's chasing add an interesting external stressor to playing. I'd say that its hard to visually tell if I have tail ammo left, there is a distinction of ammo tail and body pieces, but its still kinda hard. I'd also say adding a quick reset instead of waiting for my doom would be good, so if I bork a jump and lose all momentum, I can just go again. Fun game though! Really like it.

Thank you for playing! A quick reset is such a good idea, I dunno why I never thought of it. But with the right space bar timing you can often come back from a bad crash at least. I ran out of time to make the tail pieces super distinct but I can update both those things after the jam. Thanks for the feedback <3

Good game idea but sadly more frustrating than fun for me, probably bc I'm not too much of a gamer. Most of the times I get snatched by the bullies during the first jump. It also seems to be the case that, when they are below me, the tail/spikes don't seem to hit them.
I really love the artstyle and music, they make the game feel much more relaxed. Would definitely play a less hard version and get lost in time

(+1)

Yeah it's a hard game, even without the glitch. With the enemy speed glitch it's basically a rage game. You can reload the game between rounds to fix the problem, if you get the urge to try again. Thank you so much for playing though, it means a lot to me!

The art style's quite the thing to look at, if I may say so myself o-o! The music is pretty peaceful, compare that to me being stuck on a hill and stressing over my impending demise...it's fitting xD

Neat mechanic too btw, it adds to the old games that used the hill mechanic only, makes it a whole lot more stressful :') xD

Great work amigo! <3

Thank you! I appreciate you playing <3
